Does the federal government today have the consent of the governed?

A June 2012 Rasmussen poll shows that more of the American people may be awake to government antics than suspected…

“One of the central tenets of the Declaration of Independence is that governments derive “their just powers from the consent of the governed.” Only 22% of the nation’s likely voters believe the government today has such consent.”

Read the rest of the Rasmussen press release on the results of the poll here.

Maybe there is hope for change if this many people realize that their government is not acting in their best interests.
